Brad and I are excited to finally make our conference tournament picks. This is our 5th year doing this pool and we are each 2-2. A quick summary of the pool procedures is that we draft a conference, pick our predicted champion, and then the other person has to pick a different team to win from that conference. We go through this procedure until all 30 conferences are covered. Brad provides an excellent detailed summary of the procedures at the beginning of the podcast. So tune in and find out who we like to win their conferences and get automatic bids to the NCAA tournament.
Another exciting week of college basketball is in the books and the two biggest winners were BYU and Virginia Tech. We discuss how far BYU could advance in the tournament and whether Virginia Tech is now a virtual lock. Also, get our weekly upset picks. Brad has a 2 game lead with 10 picks left each. Finally, get our latest bracket updates and find out who we have as our #1 seeds.
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Bracketology Edition (Feb. 25)
We are back with our weekly Thursday update on our brackets. Brad and I breakdown our 1 through 16 seed lines and discuss the weak bubble. I also made a comeback this week in our upset pool by hitting 4 of my 5 upset picks. I look to continue this run, while Brad tries to put me away going into the final week of the regular season.
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Potpourri Edition (Feb. 25)
In this podcast, Brad and I touch on various news items from all kinds of sports. If you’re looking for Cleveland Cavaliers trade breakdowns, then this is the only place you’ll find them. If you’re looking for a Tiger Woods breakdown, then this is your place. And if you’re looking for a NCAA women’s bowling breakdown (yes, you read that correctly), again this is your place. So join Brad and I, as we depart from college basketball and discuss various sports news.
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Billy Packer Edition (Feb. 21)
Billy Packer is back in the news and he has a few controversial thoughts on the state of college basketball. Brad and I welcome special guest Tripp for his second appearance on the sportscast. The three of us have our own bracket projections, which we analyze from seeds 1 through 16. Finally, Brad and I give our weekly upset picks.
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Mock Tournament Edition (Feb. 18)
In honor of the NCAA committee creating their mock bracket, I decided to take a few hours to follow the bracket procedures and create my own mock bracket. Tune in as Brad and I go through the mock bracket and discuss the potential first round games. We also discuss the logistics of the tournament television schedule.
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Chanticleers Edition (Feb. 18)
Brad and I are excited to introduce a new feature called the ‘Small School Spotlight.’ From now until the big dance, we will feature a team from a small conference that could make some noise come tourney time. The first team to enter the spotlight is the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers out of the Big South Conference. As always, you can get our weekly upset picks and are updated brackets.
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Clowney Eve Edition (Feb. 13)
Brad and I welcome another special guest to our program. We review the weekend basketball, with an emphasis on Ohio St. vs. Wisconsin game. Brad and I went a mediocre combined 2-8 on our upset picks, so we look to bounce back this week. We also update our brackets and take a deep look at the bubble. Finally, we report on a New York Times story about top football recruit Clowney. At the time of this podcast, Clowney had not made his decision (he has now though, Go Cocks!!!).
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Bracketology Edition (Feb. 11)
Brad and I went a combined 50% (5 for 10) on our weekly upset picks, which is excellent considering we have to guess which teams will be underdogs. We hope to continue this hot streak over the weekend, so tune in to get our 10 upsets picks. Also, get our updated brackets through the games as of Thursday (Feb. 10).
68 & 16 College Sportscast: College Sports News Edition (Feb. 11)
In this episode, we highlight various NCAA news stories. Brad and I debate possible college football rule changes and review Wisconsin’s arrogant offer to TCU. The march madness television schedule is out so tune in to find out the logistics of the new schedule.
In this podcast, we review our weekend upset picks and make our picks for Monday through Thursday games. We also discuss Kentucky’s offense and whether N. Carolina will miss Larry Drew. Also, join us to see what teams are the weekend’s winners and losers in our projected brackets.
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Bracketology Edition (Feb. 4)
In part two, Brad and I debate our current brackets. We provide our 1 through 12 seeds, with an in depth look at the bubble. These seeds are current through the completion of all games on Thursday, February 3rd. Since Fridays are usually slow days in college basketball, our seeds should stay current until Saturday.
68 & 16 College Sportscast: Bracketbusters/CFB Recruiting Edition (Feb. 4)
National signing day has come and gone (except for DE Clowney, who apparently needs an entire day devoted to him). We do not break down individual recruiting classes, instead we focus on whether recruiting deserves all the hype. Bracketbuster matchups are out, so Brad and I give our top games to watch.
